This book reviews the law relating to shares and share capital after the significant changes introduced by the Companies Act 2006. It aims to include all the provisions of the Act (and statutory instruments) which deal with the topic and picks up relevant case law. It is organised around parts 17 (share capital), 18 (acquisition by limited company of its own shares), 20 (private and public companies), 21 (certification and transfer of securities) and 22 (information about interests in a company’s shares) of the Act and considers the provisions of the new Table A and Table C.
