Global law firm Reed Smith has appointed Lucy Dillon as chief knowledge officer (CKO) and Steven Agnoli as chief information officer (CIO).

Dillon, who was a formerly director of knowledge management at Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), will be based in Reed Smith's London office.

Agnoli joins from pharmaceuticals company Mylan, where he was head of global IT transformation. He will work from the firm's Pittsburgh office.

"Both have exceptional qualifications and significant experience well aligned with our strategic business plans," said Gary Sokulski, Reed Smith's chief operating officer.

"The roles of CKO and CIO are increasingly important to a global law firm's success."

Dillon had spent 13 years at BLP, where she was responsible for developing knowledge management across its offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Agnoli has led transformational IT initiatives in large law firms and corporate entities and was CIO at K&L Gates between 1998 and 2011.
