Daniel Ellis will be responsible for leading the British Isles investments team in his new role at RBC Wealth Management. As head of investments for the British Isles he will oversee the implementation and delivery of wealth management investment solutions, in partnership with the British Isles-based distribution and trust teams.

Ellis moves from HSBC Private Bank, where he was most recently a managing director and head of the private bank investment group for the UK and Channel Islands, managing £12bn of client assets across UK and international booking centres.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2001, he spent three years in Jersey working for Fleming and Lloyds TSB.

Ellis starts his new position on 1 October and will report to Stuart Rutledge, British Isles and Caribbean CEO.

Rutledge said: "Our ability to deliver an integrated offering to high net worth and ultra high net worth clients is heavily reliant on the strength of our investments platform. Dan is a very experienced investment professional, and is perfectly placed to help execute our growth strategy."

Ellis also joins the British Isles and Caribbean operating committee.
