Cautionary tales from the world of probate are on the agenda at a new conference for advisers.

XXIV Old Buildings barrister Edward Cumming will present the session on common drafting pitfalls and how to avoid negligence claims at SJ Live, the debut conference hosted by Private Client Adviser’s sister title Solicitors Journal.

The two-day event in May comprises various legal streams including one dedicated to private client.

Thomas Eggar’s head of private client knowledge management John Bunker leads two sessions: will drafting in the changing regulatory landscape and an estate planning, tax and trusts focus, including post-death planning and updates on the general anti-abuse rule and disclosure of tax avoidance schemes.

And senior associate solicitor in Anthony Collins Solicitors’ personal planning and management team Sheree Green closes the day with a round-up of elderly client issues. View the full programme here.

The event offers six CPD hours and networking opportunities.

Private Client Adviser subscribers are offered the £99 six-hours ticket for £75.

It takes place at the Emirates stadium in London on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May.
