Macfarlanes has appointed Michael Parkinson as a partner in the private client practice to advise high-net-worth individuals on the full range of wealth management issues.

Parkinson trained at the firm, qualifying in 2002, and rejoins in October.

He moves from Russell-Cooke Solicitors, where he has been a partner since 2009.

Senior partner Charles Martin said: "We are very much looking forward to him rejoining the team at a time when we are seeing strong demand for private client work.

"He is an excellent addition to the practice, adding further depth to our capability and helping us to meet growing client demand domestically and globally, both in established and emerging markets."

Charles Gothard also returned to Macfarlanes this year, moving from Speechly Bircham, and spoke to Private Client Adviser about why he decided to rejoin the firm.
