A new invitation-only, non-commercial forum is offering family office experts a platform to exchange best practice.

The Family Office Council was founded by Keith Johnston, former director of communications at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and launched in October.

Membership - through nomination by a full member, a family office or an ultra high net worth individual (UHNWI) - comprises family office advisers, chaired by John Riches of RMW Law, and family office executives, chaired by Jean-Bernard Tanqueray of Single Private Family Office.

The council's purpose is to improve the services provided to family offices and UHNWI internationally by exchanging best practice and offer a forum for communication of best practice between family offices and the advisory community.

It also aims to improve public understanding of family offices and create a better environment for family offices and those who advise them.
