Top-10 international law firm CMS has reported an 11 per cent year-on-year increase in revenues and a 3.3 per cent growth in net profits in 2014.

Total annual revenues reached €934.5m (£753.3m), up from €842.1m (£678.9m) in the previous year.

"We are very pleased with the firm's excellent revenue growth in 2014, in spite of the geo-political volatility in many regions in which we operate," said Cornelius Brandi, executive chair of CMS.

"In spite of the slowdown in China and conflict in the Middle East and other areas, we are confident about the global business outlook for the next year."

CMS added 109 new partners in 2014 across a wide range of jurisdictions, bringing the total to more than 800 partners. These include 78 new partners from the integration of Scottish firm Dundas & Wilson and Swiss firm ZPG Avocats.
