Trial lawyer Vincent A. Cino will take on the position of chairman at top-100 US law firm Jackson Lewis from 1 January 2013.

He will be succeeding Patrick L. Vaccaro, who has served as chairman since July 2006 and will remain at the firm as a partner.

Cino is a leading trial lawyer who has litigated on employment actions across the United States. He is the firm’s national director of litigation and a member of its management committee.

Cino was unanimously selected as chairman by the firm’s partners at their annual meeting in mid-September. He will be the first employment litigator to hold the position.

During Vaccaro’s tenure, the firm’s revenues grew by 100 per cent and it became an AmLaw100 firm. In addition, its office locations increased from 21 to 49 and its lawyer headcount doubled to 735 lawyers. The firm was also a founding member of L&E Global, an international alliance of employment law firms.

“Under Pat Vaccaro’s leadership, Jackson Lewis has achieved substantial growth and success, including significant expansion of our geographic footprint both domestically and internationally,” said Cino. “I look forward to following Pat’s path and expanding upon his many accomplishments.”
