Michaëla Ulrici has stepped down after four years as chair of NautaDutilh and on the international law firm's 290th anniversary.

She is replaced by finance and capital markets lawyer Erik Geerling, who heads both the project finance group and the ship finance group and is a board member.

"During the last term of office, we set a clear course for the future, with a focus on added value for clients, entering into new partnerships and intensifying existing ones," said Geerling.

"Together with Gaike, I will continue to develop this strategy in more detail."

Private equity partner Gaike Dalenoord is chair of NautaDutilh's international strategy committee and has been appointed to the board. He also leads the Amsterdam private equity team and the India and Japan desks.

Ulrici was the firm's youngest chair and the first woman to hold the position.

She now returns to her practice in banking and finance and to lead the financial institutions team.
