UK law firm DWF has appointed the Edinburgh-based Brent Haywood as executive partner for Scotland.

The litigation partner replaces Alasdair Peacock, now UK head of corporate and banking at the firm.

The firm says Haywood, who will be responsible for leading DWF’s Scotland practice, will “champion the firm’s values and coordinate operational activities to ensure clients are provided with the best possible service”.

Alan Benzie, chairman at DWF, commented: “The executive partner is an essential role in each of our office locations and Brent will be focused on our values and supporting our people in Scotland. The creation of a collegiate culture right across the firm is vital to ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional client service and our executive partners play an integral role in this."

Haywood has been a partner at both Scottish law firm Biggart Baillie and DWF Biggart Baillie, which was created following the July 2012 merger between DWF and Biggart Baillie.
