Kinstellar is launching its first office in Kazakhstan, headed up by the newly-recruited Joel Benjamin and Adlet Yerkinbayev.

Benjamin, who until recently headed up Dentons’ banking and finance practice in Central Asia, will serve as managing partner of Kinstellar's new Almaty office.

He is joined by fellow partner Yerkinbayev, who was previously a senior associate at Dentons' Almaty office.

Benjamin and Yerkinbayev will be supported by a team of eight lawyers, many of whom were also previously at Dentons.

Meanwhile, Dentons has announced that it has opened a new satellite office in Astana, Kazakhstan, headed up by newly-promoted partner Birzhan Zharasbayev. Its Almaty office is managed by partner Aigoul Kenjebayeva.

Dentons says its combined Kazakh practice now has over 35 fee earners (including six partners) and that further growth is expected in the near term.

“Kazakhstan is a rapidly growing economic hub in the CIS region, so strengthening our capabilities and presence in this country is of strategic importance to us,” said Dariusz Oleszczuk, Europe chief executive officer at Dentons.
