Cripps Harries Hall and Vertex Law have confirmed the completion of their merger on Saturday 28 September.

The merged firm, which has a combined turnover of over £22.7m, now enters the UK top-100 rankings. Cripps reported turnover of £18.3m in 2012/13, leaving it on the cusp of the grouping. DLA Piper’s spin-off volume business Optima Legal previously took the bottom place in the rankings, with turnover of £20.6m.

The new firm has 46 partners across its two Kent offices and London office.

“Vertex Law has been the perfect complement for us, doubling the size of our corporate and commercial practice – clients are already benefiting from the synergies produced by the merger,” said managing partner Gavin Tyler. “We’re looking forward to building one of the best regional law firms”.

“We believe this is a game changer,” said Vertex partner James Beatton. “The merged firm will have a leading position in the Kent marketplace as well as an increased reach across London and the South East, offering a cost-effective legal service to all types of business regionally and in the national marketplace”.

The nine-partner Kent law firm Vertex specialised in real estate, corporate and commercial work.
