Cobalt and Borenius merge to create top Baltics and Belarus law firm

In a move which will create the largest full-service business law firm in the Baltics and Belarus, Cobalt and Borenius have agreed to a full merger.

The merged firm will operate as Cobalt from 1 January 2016 and have more than 180 lawyers.

Cobalt was formed in May 2015 by Raidla Lejins & Norcous (with offices in Latvia and Lithuania) and LAWIN (with an office in Estonia). The merger adds Borenius' teams in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to the firm.

In Estonia, the office's 60 lawyers and will be led by Sten Luiga, Jaanus Mody and Martin Simovart.

In Latvia, the team of 50 lawyers will be led by Dace Silava-Tomsone and Lauris Liepa.

In Lithuania, Cobalt's team will grow to 65 lawyers and will continue to be led by founding partner Irmantas Norkus.

In Belarus, the five-lawyer team will be led by the current managing partner, Darya Zhuk.
