Simmons & Simmons hires Barclays’ M&A legal head

Simmons & Simmons has expanded its international corporate and commercial practice with the appointment of a new partner in London.

Khasruz Zaman joins the international law firm as a partner on 1 September 2015 from Barclays, where he was head of the M&A legal team.

His arrival marks the continued development and investment in our current M&A capability and expertise, while bringing real insight and industry strength to financial institutions as one of our five key sector priorities," said Mark Curtis, head of the firm's corporate and commercial group.

Zaman specialises in M&A and corporate finance transactions in the financial institutions sector.

He has extensive experience in both domestic and cross-border banking and other M&A transactions.

Zaman's appointment is subject to standard regulatory approvals.
