London law firm Druces has announced today that it has hired banking and finance partner Simon Pullen from Howard Kennedy.

Pullen, who had been a partner at Howard Kennedy for a decade, has more than 30 years' experience of acting for financiers, lenders, borrowers and investors.

"I believe we have a good cultural fit and share the same values that put the clients at the heart of our endeavours," said Pullen.

"The market now offers great potential for banking and finance work and Druces is well placed to take advantage of this because of its size and structure."

Druces is developing "a nimble and niche banking and finance practice" which offers "sensibly-priced advice" on transactions and issues, according to the firm.

"Simon's hire forms an integral part of our strategy to build teams and provide high-value, competitive levels of service and expertise in specialist areas. Our focus is on deals and disputes of tens of millions of pounds," said head of corporate Toby Stroh.

Simon advises across the full range of finance transactions, including acquisition finance and structured and cross-border transactions.

Druces operates from a single-site office in the City, where it has practised for more than 240 years.
