Property finance lender MSP Capital has announced the appointment of Dan Curtis as its new Head of In-house Legal, signalling a significant addition to its legal team

With over 20 years of experience in the property market, Curtis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Poole-based company, which specialises in providing principal development and bridging loans of up to £20 million.

Curtis's role will involve overseeing MSP Capital's legal affairs, providing guidance to colleagues, and managing the firm's in-house legal team. His extensive background includes 13 years as a Senior Associate Solicitor and partner at law firm Blake Morgan, where he led notable transactions such as advising David Lloyd Leisure on its real estate aspects during its sale to TDR Capital.

Prior to his tenure at Blake Morgan, Curtis worked with the Birmingham-based practice Wragge & Co, now part of international law firm Gowling WLG. His career journey, coupled with his law degree from the University of Sussex, has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of commercial property financing and advising on complex deals involving high-net-worth individuals and families.

Curtis expressed his attraction to MSP Capital's culture of ambition, entrepreneurialism, and genuine passion for property, noting the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences while maintaining rigorous standards. His immediate priorities include streamlining legal and compliance processes to facilitate efficient deal progress and contribute to the firm's growth targets.

Paul Miracca, Managing Director of MSP Capital, praised Curtis's legal acumen and extensive industry knowledge, highlighting the value his expertise will bring to the firm's relationship-led lending approach. Curtis joins a dedicated legal team at MSP Capital, including Legal Director Neil Woolgar, Solicitor Matthew Lang, and Executive Paralegal Jacqui Schott, among others.

Founded in 1981, MSP Capital has established itself as a principal bridging and development lender, offering flexible funding solutions to property professionals. With Curtis onboard, the firm is poised to further enhance its legal capabilities and continue providing robust lending solutions to its clients in the dynamic property market.
